Roy returned and spent the entire day on just ONE bracket at the bottom
of the alternator. He fabbed up a couple of long threaded rods/bolts for
the upper top bolts, and we shortened the lower (boomerang) bracket. We
STILL do not have the all-important serpentine idler pulley, which has
been lost by Jay. This is a BIG deal right now, as we cannot check our
serpentine alignment and therefore cannot hook up the blower, either.
We need to extend the blower oil drain-down line into the pan to go
AROUND the alternator, and make up some spacers for the AC and power
steering units. If we had the idler, we could size the main belt and
have the front end buttoned up.
Jay's tasks are (there are more than this):
Complete the exhaust
Hook up the fuel pumps and complete the fuel lines
Complete the electrical, including mounting the two trunk batteries
Install the fuel sending unit
Pack the fuel tank with foam
Complete the filler neck tubing to the outside
Reinstall the 4-fan pack
Finish the air filter enclosure and mounting
Hook up the intercooler and lines and pump
Get the front end back together (headlights, bumper, etc.)
Remount the wiper motor and linkage
Misc welding and brackets

Of the above Roy and I have done none. We went as far as we could I went
to Vortech the other day and met with Rob Anderson. We walked the plant,
and finally found the idler adjuster parts I needed. Rob created an
invoice two days later and I paid for them ($132) by VISA on the phone.
I should have them tomorrow here.
What I will be getting is two sets of adjusters, the arbors (pulley
shafts), and the freebie rollers Rob gave while I was there. I will need
to make mounting plates, add ¼ x 20 bolts for the adjuster stands, and
mount the plates somehow. These two adjusters should handle the motor
stuff. It APPEARS the AC and power steering pumps may need a little
adjusting to line up perfectly. I have drilled the blower bracket to
allow the heater hose a place to run. Once the belts are in place, I can
address the radiator hose routing. Of course, having Jay get the
radiator and fans back in will be needed before I can do that.
Jay has his own problems, apparently, He has pretty much ignored me for
three months, other than catching two weeks ago at home, and an unkept
promise to call, come over, and get the fuel tank and sender. I owe Jay
NO money at this time, and my credit with him leaves only about $1500 to
be paid should he EVER finish the Condor.
I will move to having others do that at this point, once any funds
allow. Should he step up before that, great. Otherwise, I'm done chasing
him.
The death of Michael Jackson at 50 has rung loudly the impatience bell
in my head. Screw this waiting for people………… I'm 65, and I could keel
anytime. This is just crap, and I really want some life projects
finished, the Condor being high on that list. I will happily post some
pix here once I get those idlers made and installed. I pretty much can
do it all myself. It just depends on whether I want to take the plates
out to be machined, rather than just massaging them here with a grinder
and drill. I may just have them slot cut for the idlers, and drilled at
HR Machine. I intend to use ¼" steel to allow me to weld and alter
easily. Aluminum does not afford me that ability.

Jay did pick up the fuel cell and sender a few weeks ago, and has done
ZERO on them so far. These are tough ties for everyone, but that doesn't
really put enough water on my fire of impatience at so many car projects
being held hostage.
There is nothing I can do, as I have zero dollars, so when he does it.
It happens
Maddening at best.
