I thought I’d update  you regarding how the Qwik-Dick funnycar is doing.

The car won its first outing this season on April 6th at St. George Raceway in Utah.
On May 24th we qualified for the Vegas show with a 7.93 ET, but had a hood latch malfunction which caused us to be DQ’d on the starting line in the first round. It was fixed 15 minutes later, but too late for Vegas.
The following day, Sunday, we returned to St. George as the defending champion and crowd favorite, qualified #2 at 7.90, set low ET at 7.84 in the first round, and sadly had a battery malfunction on the starting line in the semi-final. We were stalled in the staging area unexpectedly when someone oiled the track and our electrical system was on, and the tail light drained the battery JUST enough. The car likely would have won with consistent 7.90, 7.90, 7.84 runs.
We're learning something each time!
 
The paint is all stripped, and "Qwik-Dick" looks like the Bondo Bandit right now. Final priming, blocking, and sanding is underway for the new red paint job and flames.
Our next outing is Sacramento on June 15th, where we qualified #2 last year.
