Regal Limited Diary Page 4 - 7/12/10 to 1/11/11

7/12/10
This is the first entry in over three months. The car has remained nearly undriven during this time. I have been attending to the Condor and Impala.
I got a phone call and two emails today from a fellow in Australia who expressed deep interest in the car. He has to sell one of his cars first.
He sent me some videos of one-wheel interminable burnouts and the like. He has a quite nice 11-second Camaro with a B&M blower.
I hope this is a real deal.

10/21/10
Clearly, it was not, given the 3-month lapse in entries here. I had another father and son duo come by, and they expressed deep interest. Their situation need some resolving, just the money, and I’m waiting. I SURELY hope these are now the future proud owners of this incredible car.
I also had some guy pull Kelly over near here and demand to know about buying the car. Dante has not shown at all. Whew! Such tire kickers.
I am going to advertise the Regal and Impala in Australia this coming week.

1/6/11
I got a bite a couple of weeks ago from Craig’s List and the guy finally showed, and offered me $10K. Clearly not happening.
He sent me an email 10 days later saying he could come up with $12.5K.
I countered that $13.7K would work and he could take care of the smog.
He’s going to let me sit for a week and come back with some final offer. This looks like the beginning of the end for the Regal.

So he has come back at $13K.I’ll have to see if I want to hang on for the $500 difference.

1/11/11
I emailed Csaba and told him to CALL me. I noted for him on the phone that the sales tax, nearly 10%, would be about $1300 on a $13K purchase.
I further noted that for $300, I would write the receipt for $1330, saving him about $1200 in taxes. He tried vainly to hit me at $13,250, and we closed it at $13,300. He came, noted the car looked even better than the last time he was here, plunked down thirteen stapled piles of $100’s (in $1000 piles), and I did my due diligence on the paperwork, pink, bill of sale, DMV transfer (in the mail), and copies. I notified Grundy the car was sold.
All done, all gone. Derek will be here Friday to update the website, including putting a sold sign on the Regal.

I told him every little quirk, anything non-functioning and gave him my best advice. He zipped off in a whoosh of turbo boost.
Godspeed.
I asked some people today if I looked thinner, and most said yes. I noted I had lost 3900 # TODAY (the weight of the car).
